J-Gen 2019 Counselor Application

Apply to be a J-Gen counselor here. Please note that you will be required to attend one of two provided training sessions.

  • Chicago Counselors Training - July 6th | 9am-2:30pm | Salvation Army Mayfair - 5020 N. Pulaski Road, Chicago, IL 60630
    1. If you plan on attending the Chicago training, you must submit your application by Monday July 1st.
  • Champaign Counselors Training - July 20th | 9am-1pm | Illini Union Room 407 - 1401 W Green St, Urbana, IL 61801
    1. If you plan on attending the Champaign training, you must submit your application by Monday July 15th.

    Min Chung

    Dr. Min Chung is the founding and senior pastor of Covenant Fellowship Church (CFC) in Champaign, IL where he has been faithfully serving for 25 years. Along with his pastoral duties, he is a board member for Serving in Mission (SIM), Korean Inter-Missions Network (KIMNET), and KOSTA. He is also an adjunct professor at Urbana Theological Seminary. Dr. Chung's messages always bring a powerful impact to J-Gen attendees every year. He received his Master of Divinity as well as a Doctorate of Ministry from Biblical Theological Seminary. He is married to his wife Gee and they have five children, Joshua, Daniel, Ruth, Hannah, and Sarah.

    Justin Bailey

    Justin Bailey is assistant professor of theology at Dordt University, where his work explores the intersection of Christian theology, culture, and ministry. He is on the editorial board and a regular contributor to the online journal In All Things, and travels to speak at churches regularly. His forthcoming book is entitled Reimagining Apologetics. Prior to arriving at Dordt, he served as a pastor in Caucasian, Korean, and Filipino congregations in Los Angeles and Chicago. He holds a PhD in Theology from Fuller Seminary, as well as a Master of Divinity and Master of Theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is married to Melissa and they have two children: Ben (10) and Sophia (8).

    Tony Thomas

    Tony Thomas is a church planting intern at Perimeter Church near Atlanta, GA. He was an associate pastor at Covenant Fellowship Church (CFC) near the campus of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for 9 years where he worked with college students along with various ethnic-specific and international outreach groups. He graduated with a Bachelors of Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and worked in industry for about five years as he completed his Master of Divinity from Columbia International University (CIU). He is a big fan of Chicago sports, but especially the Bulls, and also loves playing basketball whenever he can. Tony is married to Marilyn and they are proud parents of three children - Joy, John, and Joshua.

    Byung Ham

    Byung goes by the nickname "B" (you should ask him how he got the nickname). Born in South Korea, his parents immigrated to Baltimore, MD when he was just an infant. Growing up in Baltimore, Byung turned to hip-hop, video games and sports to connect with his surrounding community. He was trained and equipped at Washington Bible College and Capital Bible Seminary. Entering his twentieth year of vocational ministry, Byung continues to travel across the country and around the world to preach and point people to the Cross. Byung and his bride, Nicole "Nikki" Ellis, live in Atlanta, GA and both serve on staff at Ponce Presbyterian Church (PCA).

    Will Chung

    Will Chung is on the leadership team for The Meeting Place TMP which has partnered with 58 Partners to start a new ministry called Catalyst in Southern California with the vision to raise up God’s mighty army. He also currently serves as an Associate for Leadership Network. For 8 years, he served as a youth and college pastor in Orange County, California and as a volunteer staff for 10 years with 4 Christ Mission. He is passionate about prayer, raising up leaders, missions and mobilizing God's people for Kingdom work. Will graduated from Talbot School of Theology with a M.Div and is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry Program at Dallas Theological Seminary. He loves his beautiful wife Andrea and his baby girl Karis.
